Typically, Trip Cancellation insurance will reimburse you if the cause of the cancellation/interruption is listed in the policy wordings - if it’s not listed, it’s not a coverable situation.
Adding the 'Cancel for Any Reason' (CFAR) endorsement to Trip Cancellation coverage expands the eligible reasons for a successful claim (‘I’m now too afraid to fly’ could be accepted, for example). With Goose's CFAR coverage, there is a limitations as to when you can cancel (you must cancel more than 10 days prior to departure date), and the amount claimable is limited to 50% of the actual insured travel costs. Speak with a Goose agent for more info, or check the policy wordings for the fine print.
