Yes, you can purchase Trip Cancellation & Interruption on an annual multi-trip basis by speaking with a licensed agent (annual Trip Cancellation policies are not available in the Goose app).
- Trip Cancellation can be purchased if the effective date of the policy is more than 7 days in the future.
- The amount of coverage you should choose is dependent on the value of the most expensive trip you'll take in the year (in Canadian funds). Calculate the portion you would not be able to get refunded by your travel provider if you were to cancel - think airfare, hotels, cruise fees, etc.
- This amount is per person, per trip.
How would this work on an annual plan?
Let's say you bought $10,000 worth of trip cancellation coverage - you would have that amount of coverage available for your first trip. If you made a $3,000 claim for that first trip, then that amount that we paid would be deducted from your annual aggregate amount... in other words you would only have $7,000 of coverage left for future trips. BUT, if you did not make a claim for the first trip, that full $10,000 of coverage would roll-over to provide coverage for your next trip.
$25,000 of Trip Cancellation coverage is the highest amount available in the Goose app, but higher limits are available - please speak with a Goose Agent for details @ 1-888-374-6673 Monday-Friday 6am-6pm PST
Trip Interruption can be purchased by itself, right up until the effective date of the annual policy, and is automatically included when you purchase Trip Cancellation coverage.
IMPORTANT: Do you know of a particular circumstance which you're concerned may cause you to cancel your trip (i.e. a sick relative, travel advisories, weather events, etc)? If you know of this situation prior to purchasing the insurance, please speak with a Goose agent to discuss, as related expenses will most likely not be covered.
