You're injured in an accident (maybe hiking, skiing, wakeboarding...) and your income stops tomorrow - how are you going to make ends meet? Rent, credit card bills, car payments, food - these expenses don’t stop just because you do. Goose's Income Protection coverage provides the funds you need to stay afloat until you return to action.
Who should buy this, and how does it work?
Anyone between the ages of 18 to 64 who works more than 20 hours a week should purchase this insurance. For only $10 a month, restaurant employees, part timer’s, gig-economy workers (Uber & Lyft drivers, Amazon delivery drivers), not to mention chiropractors, massage therapists, plumbers & electricians, cleaners, landscapers, office workers... really, anyone who earns an income who isn’t in a “high-risk” occupation. If an accident happens and you are unable to do the essential duties required by your work you may qualify for a weekly income of up to $375/week! Additionally, Goose’s Income protection plan includes a lump sum payment of up to $100,000 if you are permanently and totally disabled, along with rehabilitation benefits, home modification, education benefits and much more. All for $10 a month.
Aren't I covered for this by my work benefits plan?
While many plans have a component of Long-term disability (LTD) and AD&D coverage, very few provide short-term disability benefits to replace your income for the first few weeks or months after an accident. These long waiting periods can seriously impact your finances and cause further stress. For $10 a month Goose’s Income Protection plan is perfect to “top-up” an existing LTD, Workers Compensation and or Employment Insurance (EI).
