Yes, the COVID-19/pandemic policy does provide coverage for emergency medical expenses related to the pandemic while travellers are on cruise ships, regardless of vaccination status. Coverage for relevant expenses will continue to be provided while on a cruise, despite any travel advisories that may be in effect.
Note that as of November 30, 2021, our regular travel medical insurance policy also now provides vaccinated travellers with coverage for COVID-related medical expenses while on a cruise, even if the current travel advisories remain in place warning against all cruise travel due to the pandemic. This update will also be applicable for active policyholders who purchased before November 30, 2021, even if they’ve already left on their trip, for emergencies occurring today, onwards.
