Claims Timeline for Life Products (Group Insurance)

The timelines below are estimates and may change depending on the claim and completeness of information: 

Life Claims:

• Typically paid out within 5 days of receipt of the notification of claim, provided that iA Financial Group does not have to investigate any non-disclosure or misrepresentation.

 AD&D Claims:

• iA Financial Group commences adjudicating the claim within 5 business days of receipt, and if all information is available, the claim is paid out within 7-10 days of receipt of the information.  
• Dependent on the nature of the Accident causing death, additional information may be requested such as a medical report, Coroner's report, Medical Examiner, Police, etc. This may delay the ability to complete the adjudication of the claim right away, however, the claim is typically finalized within 5-7  days of receipt of the outstanding information for the claim.

CI Claims:

• CI claims are typically reviewed within 2 business days of receipt of the claim and no later than 5 days of receipt of the claim.  If all information is available, then the claim is usually finalized within 5-7 days of receipt of the claim.  If additional information is requested, we again try to have the claim finalized within 5-7 days of receipt of the outstanding information.
