Emergency Travel Medical
As of June 22, 2021, emergency medical coverage for COVID-19 is included as a benefit under Goose's Emergency Medical Insurance plan for those who are fully or partially vaccinated and for those who are not yet eligible for a vaccine due to their age.
NEW! As of November 30, 2021, our regular travel medical insurance policies also now provide vaccinated travellers with coverage for COVID-related emergency medical expenses while on a cruise, even while the current travel advisories remain in place warning against all cruise travel due to the pandemic.
NEW! Also as of Nov 30, 2021, our regular Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption insurance will provide some coverage for COVID-related reasons. We're now able to provide coverage for travellers who must cancel or interrupt their trip as a result of a medical condition related to COVID-19. For example, if they need to cancel due to getting sick with COVID-19, we'll cover that; but if they need to cancel because of a lost job or flight cancellation due to COVID-19, that won't be covered.
This update will also be applicable for active policyholders who purchased before November 30, 2021, even if they’ve already left on their trip, for emergencies occurring today, onwards.
If you have not been vaccinated (for any reason other than your age) but you would like COVID-19 coverage, please purchase our annual multi-trip Pandemic policy separately in the Goose app. A single trip COVID-19 coverage plan (for unvaccinated travellers) is also available by speaking with a Goose agent, and must be purchased alongside our regular Emergency Medical Insurance plan.
